Few things are more annoying than a calendar that looks perfect on screen and comes out of the printer with the last column shaved off. The cause is almost always margins, and the fix takes less than a minute once you know what each setting does.

Two kinds of margin, and why it matters
There are really two margins at play. The first is the document margin, the white space the design leaves around the grid. The second is the printer's unprintable border, a strip of roughly 0.2 to 0.25 inches (5 to 6 mm) on every edge that home printers physically cannot reach.
Cutoff happens when the grid sits inside a document margin that is smaller than the unprintable border. The design looks fine on screen because the screen has no such border, but the printer clips whatever falls in that outer strip. The goal is to keep the grid inside a margin that is at least as wide as your printer's dead zone.
Set margins in the print dialog
Most print dialogs let you set margins directly. Open the dialog and look for a Margins option:

If you can enter a custom value, 0.3 inches (about 8 mm) on every side is a reliable choice. It clears the hardware border with a little room to spare and keeps the grid centered.
Use scale to rescue a tight design
When a calendar is designed right up to the paper edge, no margin setting will save it, because the ink has nowhere safe to go. That is where scale helps. Choosing Fit to printable area shrinks the whole page by two or three percent so the outermost grid lines pull inside the printable region.
This is the one time you should not insist on 100 percent scale. A grid that is two percent smaller but fully visible beats a full-size grid missing its right column. To avoid the problem in the first place, pick a layout that already leaves a safe margin, like the print-ready files in the template gallery, which are spaced to clear a normal printer border.
Match the paper size first
Before you touch margins, confirm the paper size in the dialog matches the paper in the tray. Sending a Letter-sized file (8.5 by 11 in) to A4 paper (210 by 297 mm), or the reverse, shifts the whole grid and clips one or two edges no matter how you set the margins.

Preview, then trim if you must
Always check the print preview before committing. Look at all four edges: you want a visible strip of white around the entire grid, not a date or a grid line touching the paper edge. If one side looks tighter than the others, the design may be off-center, which a custom equal margin usually corrects.
If you truly need the design to reach the paper edge, such as a full-bleed photo calendar, the cleaner route is to print slightly oversized on a larger sheet and trim to size with a ruler and craft knife. That gives a true edge-to-edge look that home printers cannot produce on their own.
Build in the margin from the start
